GOOT exists because the good weekend shouldn't take five tabs and a spreadsheet.
We started GOOT because every other weekend-trip site reads like it was written by the SEO team. We were tired of "10 charming towns near you" and "hidden gems you must visit." So we built the opposite.
GOOT is short, opinionated, and run by humans who pick trips they'd take themselves. One destination per card. One hotel that anchors it. Three moves that make the weekend. A verdict line that helps you decide in ten seconds whether it's for you.
The list grows slowly on purpose. If a trip doesn't earn the pick, it doesn't go up. We don't fill space. We don't list a hotel because someone paid us to. We do use affiliate links — when you book through us, we sometimes earn a commission. It never changes which trips make the list.
The name is "Get Out Of Town" with the vowels mostly knocked out. The product is the shortest distance between a Wednesday and a Saturday that doesn't feel like Wednesday.
